I made this record in my childhood home in Rappahannock County, VA during a period of time when I was the only one staying there (also the only human within a 3 mile radius).
There are a number of images, objects, concepts, which stick out in my mind as totems of my life living in that house until age 19; upon rexperiencing these, time collapses on itself and I’m 10 years old again wrapped in a flannel blanket beside the old wood stove, as my dad returns from the wood pile with a few more roughly split logs.
They say that your tastes and predispositions plateau at age 14. I reject this adage, but I do think that the web of ones entire life is hung from points that are set when you are young and malleable. This record is a document of folding the present over the past, and pinning these layers together at these points.
